Nanna Prieler is an illustrator born in Austria. She needs incredible large amounts of coffee to function and is always lost in her own thoughts, which is expressed in permanent drawing and filled up sketchbooks.
Allowing herself to focus on beauty and esthetics she is processing contemporary topics or trends and translates them into her own visual language,
which she describes as a play between round and square, fine and rough, colorful and monochrome, figurative and abstract, obvious and absurd.
Thereby her work focuses closely on representing ethnicity and sexuality with integrity, following her own authentic perspective as a woman artist.
By using an analog printing technique her artworks gain a deeper emotional quality and nostalgia that contrasts the eye-catching boldness of their happy color and accentuates their flat character.
She is currently working on commercial commissions for international clients and on personal artistic projects from her studio in Vienna, getting inspired by beautiful and funny life questions or thoughts :-)
